What Becomes Your Anchor When Grief Feels Heavy?

A gentle reflection graphic with florals and an anchor — What becomes your anchor when grief feels heavy?

Some days we need something steady to hold us - a person, a prayer, a page, a memory, or one small reason to keep going.

Grief has a way of arriving in waves. Some moments feel manageable, and others feel like the ground has shifted beneath your feet. In those heavy moments, we often search -sometimes without even realising it - for something to hold onto.

An anchor doesn't take the grief away. It simply steadies you long enough to breathe, to remember, to survive the wave.

For some, that anchor is a person who sits with them in the silence. For others, it could be a cup of tea, a walk, a candle lit in remembrance. It might be a page from a book that says exactly what the heart couldn't find words for. It might be a memory so vivid and warm it becomes a temporary shelter.

Whatever your anchor is, it is enough. You are enough.

I’d love to know -  what becomes your anchor when grief feels heavy? Sometimes naming it is its own kind of comfort.
